The governing principle

The system identifies patterns. People make decisions.

A licensing or certification examination can determine whether someone may practice a profession. An integrity finding therefore deserves more than an unexplained score or an automated accusation. Exam Integrity identifies risk indicators, explains the supporting evidence, recommends appropriate review actions, and states the limitations of the analysis. It does not determine that misconduct occurred.

Reviewers see why an attempt was surfaced, not simply that it received a risk score.

Evidence and limitations

The review presents supporting evidence and explicitly identifies information that was unavailable.

The available evidence can include question-level timing, selected and correct responses, examination sequence and form, attempt behavior, score context, and network information when available.

Timing is reconstructed at the question level. LearningSuite uses the response-posted timestamp and elapsed time on the item to calculate a question start time, creating a much richer examination timeline than start and completion times alone.

Identifies sequences in which several consecutive questions are answered unusually quickly and presents the surrounding correctness and pacing context.

Surfaces unusual pause-and-response sequences that may warrant examination of interruptions, session events, or other contextual evidence.

For candidate findings, LearningSuite presents the evidence that caused the attempt to be surfaced for review. Depending on the available data, that evidence can include rapid-response timing, pause duration, correctness during a rapid sequence, response similarity, uncommon incorrect-response matches, timing relationships, shared network activity, cluster relationships, and repeated-attempt behavior.

The reviewer can see not simply that an attempt was flagged, but why it was flagged. Risk levels and scores provide prioritization; the associated findings and evidence provide the basis for review.

Recommended review actions

Detection is only the beginning of the investigation.

Exam Integrity recommends appropriate next steps based on the evidence available. The purpose is not to tell a reviewer what decision to make. It is to help determine what evidence should be examined next.

Explicit limitations

The analysis also tells you what it does not know.

Every Exam Integrity Review includes limitations. Missing information is identified as unavailable rather than silently treated as evidence. This gives reviewers the context needed to distinguish a meaningful concern from a pattern that may have a legitimate explanation.

Missing network evidence

Without IP information, shared-network relationships and IP-based corroboration cannot be evaluated.

Unavailable pair or cluster evidence

If pairwise or cluster results are unavailable, the review states that those relationships could not be assessed from the supplied results.

Missing contextual evidence

When item statistics, navigation traces, proctoring, device telemetry, or audit logs are unavailable, the review identifies that limitation.

An unavailable signal is reported as unavailable — not silently treated as evidence.
